Hey. I've found 2 ZASTAVA dealers in Canada. Ellwood Epps and goble's. Both in Ontario. I'm jumping on a Z-5 in WMR. They're about can$300. Keep you posted. P.S Are they accurate enougt to hit a ground hog at 100M?

I have no experience with one in WMR but my .22 LR is certainly accurate.

Here are some cheap ammo groups at 50 yards:

dugasgunner,
How are you doing on getting that Z-5? I hope you're back by now and ready to hit the range.

Hi Neil. Yes i'm back. Got my Z-5 and it's looking good. Mounted a Mueller APV with warnes rings. Did not had a chance to get to the range. It's getting cold up here and i think i'm gone wait till spring, to take my time and be comfortable while doing it. I also want to find as many brand of ammo possible. And let me tell you, in Canada it's a challenge. Nice piece of walnut, nice deep and even blue, magazine fits tightly in mag well, reciever thickness is impressive but the bolt looks small. The only real backdraw is the cut checkering. Still way better than the press one we see on Marlins but Zastava could work on that. Over-all very very nice for the price. Now let's see if it's a groundhog blaster. Cheers

Slick looking rifle, nice wood. When you come out of your burrow in the Spring I hope you get your share of the groundhogs.

I've just found a dealer in Quebec city. This is heaven. Hope they will be popular cause IMO they are unbeatable for just under $300. Sail has the 17hmr version for $285. For a nice rifle in Canada that's very cheep. I'm actually looking for a 17hmr to complete my rimfire line. I was thinking of a lever action since i have 1 TOZ-99 semi-auto in LR, 1 bolt TOZ-78 in LR and another bolt a Z-5 in WMR. The Henry varmint express did draw some attention from me but at $470 + tx + some glass, i don't know anymore. Anyway ill wait after christmas to make a decision. Cheers.

Posted ImageHi Hi all. My Z-5 in LR is finally ready. I've adjusted the trigger, refinish stock, redone the checkering and wightenout front sight. The trigger is about 3 pounds, 0 creep and 0 overtravel. It will not be scoped. Very happy with the result and now i will have to see if it's accuratePosted Image I'm pretty confident. Keep you posted.

HiHiHi. Again, i've change my decision not to scope my Z-5. It's now toped with a Vortex crossfire 2x7x32. Wow, those lenses are clear. It's my first Vortex and i'm very happy. Perfectely balanced sizewise with the rifle. Very satisfied. Now, if snow could stop it will be range time soon. Will bring a report. Again, impressed with the scope and it's reasonnable price.

Finally sold my Z-5 in WMR and got a CZ 527 LUX in hornet. Superb rifle. So WMR and HMR are out the window, but LR's still lives on for me. Cheers

So why did you sell your Z-5? I've been looking at one either in 22 WMR or 17 HMR. Anybody else have experience with these Zastava rifles?
